03/02/2026 Training TEST

Feb 20, 2026

March 2, 2026 Training Day

CORE

A) Be with Jesus and complete today's reading.

  1. Ready - Prepare your heart and environment for time with Jesus. A full list of recommendations can be found in our COACHING NOTES. However, here are a few ideas to help: grab your Bible and journal, clear distractions, read Psalm 23 slowly, pray slowly asking God to open your heart to His voice during this time, or take a few slow breaths to begin. Choose a rhythm that you enjoy and supports moving your attention to God.
  2. Read - John Chapter 1 is our text for today. We recommend reading slowly and thoroughly. We've found reading out loud and two times through can be helpful for fully understanding.
  3. Reflect - What stood out to you in the text? Don't over complicate this. Think of the first thing(s) that come to mind from the study. Feel free to write them out in a journal or your notes app. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO POST YOUR TAKEWAY WITH YOUR CHECK MARKS IN THE GROUP!
  4. Respond - There is great power and transformation that occurs when we respond to the Word and what we believe God is saying to us. Take time to write out some of the thoughts and reflections you have from this time. We recommend using a journal or notes app.
  5. Rest - Finish your time with Jesus resting in the truth you just studied. Take 1-2 minutes, close your eyes, open your hands, and prayerfully receive the truth from today. This pairs well with our Deepen Exercise noted below if you have more time and want to engage this way.

DEEPEN

A) Spend 5:00 Minutes (or more) in Contemplative Prayer

Contemplative Prayer is a "relational", wordless, or wordless form of prayer. It moves beyond simple verbal petition to focus on "being with" God. We like the description of "looking at God, looking at you, in love," as it emphasizes resting in God's presence, rather than a performance-based, active, or mental effort.

*For a full breakdown on Contemplative Prayer and resources to learn, go visit the resources section on our member page.

B) Get 8,000 (or more) steps.

Moving throughout your day will have significant benefits on your health. If you have time after your workout and amidst your responsibilities, we encourage you to aim for 8,000 or more steps. This can be done all at once but is better to be done across your entire day.

Here are some practical ways to do this: go for a cool down walk after your workout, take the stairs, park further away from entrance, take short walking breaks during work, take calls on a walk, get a walking treadmill, go for prayer walk, walk with your spouse, friend, or family.

REMINDER: Monthly Goal: An Intentional Prayer Session (Longer, Preplanned, Undistracted)

Each month we are working towards a greater goal together as a group of men. This month we are building towards an intentional, schedule session of undistracted prayer, where we will all pray over the main areas in our life (family, money, children, work, health, witness, faith, etc). We will provide guidance regarding this, but the goal is to allocate and spend a longer than usual time in prayer at the end of this month. The aim will be for 30 minutes or more. This can be completed on a timeline that works best for your schedule. Post in the group once completed with your takeaway and what God is speaking to you!
